Share the promise of spring

with your Flower Count photos and win!

Our goal in 2021 is to spread spring cheer to the residents of Greater Victoria and encourage them to get out in their communities and #ExploreVictoriaLocal.

As the global pandemic enters its 2nd and hopefully final year, we want to share a bouquet of healing with the rest of Canada. We’re fortunate here in Greater Victoria to have the earliest blooming flowers in Canada. Although we can’t get together in person, we can share a virtual bouquet to remind everyone that spring – and vaccinations – are coming and remember to stop and count the flowers.

Post your own flower count and encourage your friends and family to do the same on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Use the social platforms below to show and tell with photos and videos of: flowers, flower counting within your bubble, and other associated outdoor activities.

Hunting for hidden blooms

Used.ca will be hosting a contest to find the bloom during Flower Count Week. Each day one luck person (over the age of 19) will be going home with a fabulous prize package filled with local goodies including a 100ml bottle of  award-winning Sheringham Distillery gin, Westcoast Life herbal loose tea from Silk Road, two pairs of Victoria-themed socks, and a mini pot of honey from Country Bee Honey Farm. The perfect way to warm up after a long day of counting the blooms.
